Gene Editing Regulation Changes

By: agxio | 07 Jan 2021

Providing farmers across the UK the ability to produce crops resistant to disease, pests or extreme weather would be highly beneficial, producing healthier and more nutritious food to feed the nation. On January 7th, Environmental Secretary George Eustice set out plans to consult gene editing as a way of reducing these issues and will focus on stopping certain gene editing organisms from being regulated in the same way as genetic modification.
