Tree planting, species reintroduction and the restoration of peatland are the focus of new plans set out by the Environment Secretary to encourage nature recovery and achieve net zero in England. Subject to public consultation, the plans include a ban on peat sales and a drive towards a post-pandemic ‘green recovery’.
