New Net Zero Strategy revealed by UK Government

By: agxio | 19 Oct 2021

The Government has published plans to set out how the UK will reduce greenhouse gas emissions to reach the 2050 target of Net Zero. The strategy includes further support for farmers through the Farming Investment Fund and Farming Innovation Programme, both of which will help farmers reduce emissions by enabling them to invest in new equipment, infrastructure and technology. Peatland restoration and tree planting will be promoted with the aim to more than double the current rate of tree planting to 30,000 hectares per year by 2024. This will be made possible through a fund of £625m available to farmers.
