The Environmental Act has now become law in the UK, paving the way for enhanced environmental protection for future generations. The Act includes legally binding targets to restore species and natural habitats as well as improving air and water quality. Household recycling will be promoted further, and businesses will be encouraged to create sustainable packaging for products. In addition, a range of measures will be included to conserve rainforests and discourage illegal deforestation abroad with the aim to protect biodiversity and promote sustainability within the UK supply chain.
