Developing Bioplastics in the Agriculture Industry

By: agxio | 02 Mar 2022

New plastic alternatives are vital within the agriculture industry, to reduce the current waste. It is estimated that the British gardeners alone use up to 500 million plastic plant pots annually, taking up to 450 years to degrade. Therefore, we must look to new innovative ways to reduce plastic usage and wastage. Teysha Technologies have joined the National Institute of Agricultural Botany (NIAB) in a bid to develop the next new alternative to plastic, namely bioplastics. The aim is that this will ultimately reduce overall plastic usage across the industry, reducing waste that ends up in landfill sites across the country.
