The official launch of the M-SParc Wales Igniting Innovation tour took place recently at the House of Lords in London. Agxio CEO Dr Stephen Christie was invited to attend alongside representatives from AberInnovation, home of our Welsh research laboratory, for the prestigious start of the week-long programme of events promoting innovation in Wales.
The event was hosted by Lord Wigley and featured speakers including Bangor University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Edmund Burke, Professor Jas Pal Badyal FRS, Chief Scientific Adviser for Wales, and Professor Dame Ottoline Leyser of UKRI, and David TC Davies, Secretary of State for Wales.
Officially opened in 2018 as Wales’ first Science Park, M-SParc is the home of innovation in north Wales. The Wales Igniting Innovation Tour showcases Welsh innovators at venues across London, allowing industry to network with a new ecosystem and inspiring the next generation.
Dr Christie commented, “The breadth and depth of innovation is clearly evident from this event – and each of the speakers brought different aspects of innovation in Wales to life. Agxio was delighted to support this event and thanks M-Sparc and Lord Wigley for hosting at the House of Lords.”
