Combining the use of pioneering machine learning technology and leading industry expertise, Agxio are collaborating with Digital Farming to transform the management of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA).
Two state of the art Digital CEA farms in Mid Wales and the Welsh Valleys have been installed to stimulate the adoption of all year round growing of high nutrition greens and herbs using patented growing systems linked to a smart digital management system.
At the centre of the technology is Ceres, which deploys machine learning to effortlessly command and control growing environments with the use of sensor network analytics and applied intelligence. Optimal conditions can be maintained in controlled environments through automatic, fast sensor to platform responses with integrated alerting, ultimately ensuring excellent plant health and maximised yield outputs.
Dr Gareth Jones, CEO of Digital Farming commented “We were delighted to be awarded these contracts which have allowed us to demonstrate the benefits of Digital CEA farming for high nutrition foods. Ceres allows us to turn our data into more advanced predictive solutions to increase crop yield and lower energy consumption. We believe that the sustainable net zero goals can only be achieved with strong partnerships in technology, energy and digital infrastructure.”
