Agxio’s Dr Stephen Christie was invited by the Welsh government’s Wales in Middle East & North Africa (MENA) team as one of the keynote speakers for the Extraordinary Insights session held at the UK Pavilion at the World Expo in Dubai (postponed from 2020 but held in February 2022).
The Extraordinary Insights talk, ‘The Green Magicians’, was part of the ‘In the Future…What will we EAT?’ programme of activity examining how we will be able to feed ourselves in the future, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture for generations to come.
By 2050, the world will be feeding 9 billion people, with the demand for food 60% greater than it is today. Equipping the digital farmer of the future with the technology they need to be an agronomist, data scientist, engineer, commodity analyst, AI technologist, and eco-warrior is essential if we are to produce more food, more efficiently, and sustainably.
Dr Christie shared insights into the technological innovations involved in realising this digital farming future. He also shed light on how the company is helping to enable the Green Magicians required to deliver the farming and food that are essential for a secure and environmentally sustainable future.
