A Mycoplasma bovis vaccine, which has been available in America for several years has now been approved for use in the United Kingdom. With this vaccine, we have seen approximately a 45% reduction in mortality and culling, with an efficacy of around 80-100% as observed by UK vet practices. The introduction of this new vaccine aims to improve the control of the disease as well as improving farm production efficiencies and animal welfare.
