The Nitrogen Release from Cover Crops project will compare cover crops mixes and evaluate the quantity of nitrogen released into the soil with different management techniques. The new study is funded by water companies and will be delivered by ADAS with the aim to expand knowledge of different cover crop varieties and destruction techniques. Findings from the project will help farmers reduce environmental impacts such as nitrate leaching, improve fertiliser use and enhance water quality.
